Ibervillea lindheimeri, Balsam Gourd

Ibervillea lindheimeri is a caudiciform succulent plant that is native to Mexico and the southernmost United States. Its common names include "Balsam gourd", "Globeberry", "Lindheimer's globeberry", "Wild balsam", and "Deer apple". The fruit and foliage of the plant are both eaten by woodland animals in its natural habital, such as quail and deer. Ibervillea are not frost hardy plants.
