Forest Lily 'Lemon Flame'
Veltheimia - Forest Lily - is a native of South Africa. It is a perennial flowering bulb with strap-shaped leaves and stout stem that bears a cluster of nodding, tubular flowers, similar to a Red-Hot Poker, in Spring. Grown indoors or under glass in cooler climes, but can be moved outdoors in warm weather'Lemon Flame' has shades of cream through lemon yellow with green tips. Veltheimia bracteata requires a short period of summer dormancy, and watering should be reduced and kept barely moist. Bulbs can grow well in pots and should be planted with only two thirds of the bulb below the soil level. If left undisturbed, offsets will be formed.
