The lemon one has gone crazy! #veltheimia is a woodland edge bulb from South Africa. Don’t see them much over here, but they are stunning when in flower (which is winter - a lot of South African bulbs grow over winter when the rainfall is higher, although temps are a bit warmer there during their winter!). There are five flower spikes on this one 👏🏼👏🏼

Another lovely from the windowsill - this has been flowering for about a month, just starting to fade. Took this pic at its best 👌🏼. I’ve only one bulb and one flower, should be fine to go outside for the rest of the year when the frosts have gone, then I’ll have the task of trying to make it go dormant and come back next year 😀. My other Forest Lily hasn’t done much this year but it’s still alive thankfully 😅 #veltheimia #veltheimia-bracteata #veltheimiabracteatalemonflame #forestlily

Looks quiet similar to Tuberose Blooms for the shape of the blooms 😊

Just a progress update on one of my #veltheimia bulbs that I got last autumn. The leaves are coming through well now and I see a flower spike already 😀 #veltheimia-bracteata #veltheimiabracteatalemonflame #forestlily

I’m really looking forward to seeing this in flower Kyla 😀 - there’s another one just to the right of this one, slightly different variety but it’s not yet reached flowering size. Hopefully won’t have to wait too long for that one 👍🏼 @PunkyKy

Now for something slightly different - came across this plant about 6 months ago and found somewhere online to order a single bulb, and then forgot about it! 🙄 - turned up in the post last week. It's essentially another South African species and for now I'm going to try growing this as a house plant. The bulbs should not be buried too deep, and do better when their necks are exposed (I guess a bit like Nerines really 👍🏼) - it will hopefully grow through the winter months.
