Pruned and propagated. First experience.

Sorry I didn't reply before I did it in my head and forgot to do it 😂 looks so much better and rejuvenated now 👍☺

It's okay @wesleybrian and thanks for your comment. Hoping that cuttings start to grow.

Looks better now. Has a better shape! 😊Now let's hope your cutting sprouts and grows!

Looks a lot better 👌🏻

👍👍 love the frogs 🐸

Wow this is nice #Scheflera . I have a few plants like this I hope they can get to this point.

Hey @wesleybrian base on my experience the younger parts of the plant are much easier to propagate from #stemcuttings.

Pretty plants. I always enjoy the cute little things you have on display with them. Hello little frogs :-)

Much better! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #frog #ornament #variegated #schefflera

Just reading everyone's comments and noticed there was a mention of frogs. I said 'frogs- what frogs?' Went back for second look and don't know how I could have missed the 2 cute little sitting frogs!

Excellent!!!!

Thinking of bringing it back into shape. Suggestions please.

@josy @slj @gjones

Thats a big one

Our suggestion is to watch the ehow video on the Internet. Type in how to prune a schefflera plant and follow the video. Sorry we're not more help!

Thanks @gjones That's some help. Actually I don't know what to do about this branch at bottom right which is totally drooping. The leaves on bottom half of it look healthy but on top these are pale and lifeless. Confused whether to cut off all, half or tie it up straight and wait.

@lilium @brightcolours

@wesleybrian

If it was us we'd cut it off completely, right up close to the main stem! Maybe you could root the cutting for another plant!

@gjones Even if it's unhealthy? And should I plant the whole cutting or shorten it?

@carolgs The one at my work is about eight feet tall. That's where the inspiration came from.

A lot of times the leaves will fall off the unhealthy part. Also pale leaves often mean not enough sunlight. When we do cuttings, we try to make sure it's healthy and about the cutting is 6-8" long.

Thanks @gjones 😀

A lot of new growth

Nice healthy plant. Your home must be starting to look like a greenhouse!

@gjones Pretty much. Running out of space 😀
Love the shiny leaves on these plants, we always had one in our office

Schefflera cuttings drooping @gjones @josy
It could be a couple of things but it's quite normal for cuttings to wilt a bit or even drop all their old leaves. It's only been about a week so I'd wait a bit longer before I'd do any type of correction. You probably should have put only two cuttings in each pot. When we do cuttings, we water well right after planting and then water sparingly until new growth appears. Wait another week, you may lose a couple but if some survive that would still be success! Keep us updated on their progress.
Thanks @gjones
😱😱
Recently I propagated it just by leaves, without main stem. Evenly I have no idea about it before. I was lucky so succeeded. 😃😃 #umbrellaplant
@ankur1406 Congrats and well done.
Thanks @zeeshan
Good luck!👒
Oh my! :S yes... You just have to sit and wait Zeeshan :(
Have you used any rooting hormone?
Oh sorry I forgot this tip: I sometimes put the cuttings into water for a day :) before planting them in soil.
@josy Yes I used rooting hormones but didn't put them in water before.
