Can anyone advise me why the leaves on my peonies have turned brown - I bought them early this year and planted as directed🤔

They usually start dying down now Ann, mine are the same

Mine are starting to go over too. A little early I think but it’s been an odd year all round hasn’t it?

Probably a little bit too dry for them or too much sun. They look like leaf scorch. Could also be too much fertiliser.

Thanks for all your comments @jaynehynesburton @joanboston @ublaszko I was told they don’t flower in the first year - shall I leave them as they are or cut them right down - they were just sprouts on a twig when I bought them

You can cut them back once the foliage does down. For now, the foliage is still feeding the roots so give it another month 😊 I waited 2 years for the first floor but they often take up to 3 years.

I just leave mine to die right down, Peonys don't like moving either Ann. Is it in a pot
