I live to the south of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. Somewhat overcome by the work needed in the garden, I share bits of it! Twitter @oldgreyheron

Ripening nicely now - quite a few coming. My good lady is away for a few days and she’s the one who eats them. Very bad timing! Will they keep in the fridge for a few days? #gyo

A large fig leaf in the greenhouse - it’s not hiding anything! #foliagefriday.

Why has this appeared twice? I got a message saying my request had timed out! Apologies to all.

@oldgreyheron it just does this sometimes. You can go into your profile feed if you want and delete the extra one by tapping the little pencil next to the encyclopedia link above the photo. You can however take comfort in that fact that, at least virtually, you have twice the fig trees!

One of two embryonic fruits on the fig growing in a pot in the greenhouse. Our first two potential fruits. Any tips welcome!

keep it in a pot unless you want an enormous tree with lots of fruit :) mine is in a pot so not much fruit unfortunately, i think i counted five last year so will probably get it a larger pot :)

Thanks Sarah. Would you recommend moving it outdoors in the summer? It's only 1m tall at present. @Squares
