..mine are Meconopsis Betonicifolia... and thrive in the damp shade at the bottom of the garden... some varieties are monocarpic..(meaning if allowed to flower the first year.. they set seed and die) ..that said ..they are my favourite herbaceous perennial ..that amazing blue colour has to be seen to be believed...
@ukjohnny I'm actually not sure if that's the correct variety I've given it, I got it from some gardens at work - bargain at £3 as I'm guessing it must be about 3 years old with being so slow growing. I'm not so bothered if it dies, just want to see it flower at some point ...I'll be a happy bunny! Do you have any photos of yours?
..yes a feed of blood, fish and bone in spring and again in summer and that's it... i'm hoping to divide them next year after flowering to increase my numbers and eventually have them all along the shady part of the garden...

..it'll be fine if it's 3 years old...yes there are pictures in my profile from this summer.. they were amazing when in full bloom Lisa
