Always loved gardening. Got my own West London garden in '13 which was just a patch of grass. Really enjoying turning it into a place I love to be.

#help 😭 I have some rather large aeoniums which usually stay out al year because the garden and balcony are very sheltered. We must have had a bit of wind last night and they’ve blown over and broken. Given that it’s probably not the right time for cuttings, does anyone have any tips of how to rescue these bits that have snapped off? It would be a shame to lose them as they’ve been my pride and joy for a few years now 😭😭😭

I have had branches broken off, it was very sad. However, I put mine in soil right away, just made sure not to water for a week. They are now thriving.

Yes, I would agree with @kaigia - just don’t water it for a while until you are confident some roots have started to form. You could probably push them all in the same pot if you can fit them just to get them to root first, then separate them later

Survived another year up on the balcony! Probably still a bit too soon to take it down to the garden! #aeonium-zwartzkop

The beast survived the mild winter up on the balcony so has earned his spot back down on the table 👍

Brought these up to the balcony for the winter and it looks like they might make it through! Gone a lovely red colour and have some new side shoots.
