I just started several exciting adventures in zone 6a&b (kinda in the middle). Looking forward to learning, collecting ideas, and trying new things.

I decided to bring my #avocado trees and mango inside tonight as it's supposed to drop to the 40's and in the 30's by the weekend 🙃 Definitely a quick weather change 🥶🧊❄

@midgetwizard Thank you 🥰 I think it takes 10 to 15 years. But it's only been less than a year. So, I've got some time 🙂

Very nice! Are those aphids on top? If so, hand squash them and leave their 💦. It will deter others from replacing them. 💕

@Dragon_Warrior Wow yours rooted faster than mine. I think mine was about 6 to 8 weeks. My daughter kept laughing at it and telling me it wasn’t going to do anything, but I was persistent and stuck it out. Now I’m reading that I have to pinch back all the time so it fills out? How long do I wait to plant in soil?

Dragon_Warrior

@charyl I'm not completely sure when to put it in soil. But I've been told to wait until the roots are at least 2 inches long. I personally would probably wait a bit longer until a decent rootball is formed. But we can probably get some #avocado-advice from @cyndi 😁

Ive seen some people on here just plant the seed in soil and grow that way. Me i wait till the top has great growth not just roots .. go under mine and tags # for them to see what everyone is doing cus no 2 of us are doing exactly the same. @charyl @Dragon_Warrior and we are getting successful plants. I even have a very large one outside that now is so big cant be overwintered and its in a very large container

@cyndi have you gotten any fruit off of it yet? I have heard that alot of times when grown from the store bought fruit pits that you dont get a fruit bearing tree. But I dont see why you wouldn't. Idk?

I now have 2 different types of #avocado 🥰 The one on the left is a #hassavocado but I don't know what the one on the right is. The sticker says it's from Mexico. Any ideas?
