I have a tiny farmhouse in rural PA w/ lots of fields & forest... I enjoy being surrounded by as many plants as possible, both outdoors & in my home!
Help me identify this plant #plantid
I'm not sure maybe these ladies may know. @KariSamuel @lovestogarden @jennlamaye @MelanieAt
Looks like asclépias. It's milk weed, essential for the monarch butterfly caterpillars 🐛. I leave mine so they feed the monarchs. The flowers are also wonderfully fragrant.
Thanks @Acetaker for the tag
Is this a type of milkweed maybe?
@petersburghomesteader @KariSamuel @treefrog44 does this look like it could be a type of milkweed? Or do you know what it is?
Looks like it could be milkweed, break off a piece of leaf or stem, if a white milky liquid comes out, yep its milkweed :)
@columbiariver @treefrog44 It might be... I've never seen them this tall before, but you're probably right! I'll go break off a piece & find out for sure 🙂
There are several varieties that grow taller than 5ft...
