'Mango Bitterroot' is a hardy perennial with star shaped flowers, mango in colour with deep green foliage. Lewisias form a dense rosette of mid-green fleshy leaves. The flowers have many petals, and are in a range of colours, on 8" stems. The main requirement to grow these alpine plants is good drainage.

The flowers, which are funnel-shaped, 1.5-2.5cm in width, appear in open sprays on stems about 20 cms. in late Spring to early Summer.

Plant Lewisia in early spring. Outdoors, set them in a well drained sunny position in rich soil containing plenty of gravel. The essential requirement for growing Lewisia is free-draining soil
