Leptospermum scoparium 'Red Damask'

New Zealand Tea Tree 'Red Damask'

Tea Tree is an evergreen shrub or small tree originating in southeastern Australia and New Zealand. The leaves are small and elongated oval - often fragrant. The flowers are saucer-shaped, and in shades of pink, red and white, and are attractive to bees and butterflies. Can be grown outdoors in mild Winter areas, as long as it is protected from frost (it will tolerate a light frost, once established), or can be grown in a container. Leptospurmum scoparium 'Red Damask' is a bushy evergreen shrub with narrow green leaves. It grows well in slightly acidic to neutral soil conditions, and flowers in Early Summer with deep red double flowers and dark centres. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain growth.
