These plants require winter protection in these cooler regions and can be grown as pot plants.


Planting

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

This greenhouse variety should be planted in a greenhouse border or in 8-12 inch pots or tubs. Overwinter the plants between 7-10 degrees C. The plants, and particularly the variegated types, retain their foliage and remain colourful through the winter months if a temperature of of about 16C can be maintained and the compost is kept moist.
