I might think it’s something in the air down there, because my mothers neighbors bloomed also. She’s the women I got the cuttings from the ginger plant and my sanchizia

@treefrog44 I’m not sure she’s silver queen... silver queen usually don’t have markings if I remember correctly. More like a zeylanica to me. And they bloom when they mature and are overcrowded lol

Beautiful. Years ago my mom's supprised us and bloomed one year in the house. She always put it out during the summer. But it had been growing for years without a bloom.🤗

I've never seen one bloom like this! It's a beautiful flower spike😊 Is this the common variety or a less well known variety?

At first we thought these were water drops, but they are sticky and sweet 😄 as if the smell alone was not enough to draw pollinators...lol!

@columbiariver in Florida these are everywhere as landscape plants, it was here when we moved in a year ago, it was a pup I took from the mother plant, my daughter wanted a plant in her room :) i planted it in a small 4" pot, it was pot bound when it started to flower. That may be the key :)

Your daughter must be very happy! I'll remember not to worry about a tight pot. Mine is itty bitty, ages from blooming. 🌿

She loves it! @columbiariver... she was yelling so loud for me to come to her room, to see the bloom, I thought she was gonna have me get another spider out! Lol!
