I think I may have reached the end of the road with my #spiderplant - perhaps it's not getting enough light? #advice

Morning Daniel 😃, I'd say give it a chance by repotting in fresh compost, check you plant pot has holes in the bottom, if not put in a new pot with holes in, place in a brighter location but not full sun and water just enough to moisten the compost. I recon it'll come back to life within a week or two! 👍🏻🌱👍🏻 #advice #savetheplant 😂

Morning Daniel, it's certainly looking at little worse for wear. I hope Becks @mrsflowerpot advice works 👍👍👍

⬆️ Waht Beck said - they're so tough - and in the summer you can have them as patio plants, nice in hanging baskets etc! Xx @mrsflowerpot

Remove all the dead/dying leaves. Stick your finger in the soil. Is it too wet? Too dry? If too dry, then soak the whole pot in a bucket or sink of room-temperature water until all the air bubbles are removed from the soil.

Not sure what to do about my #spiderplant - Am I over watering or under watering it??? #indoor

Not that I'm a great one to listen to about houseplants, but if the same rules apply as outdoor plants...general rule of thumb - if the browning parts are crispy they need more water, if they're soft and flopping they need less 🤔

My spider plant did the same , it was thriving lots of babies on it and it was healthy for a couple of years then I moved it and it started going brown so I put it back but it didn't recover now it is in spider plant heaven 😏 so have you moved it ?

@thedanielrichards Mr Richards, are you feeding the plant? Baby-Bio? Other?

SikoMa

Is it located near a heat source? Mine will do this in the winter if I have placed it too close to a heat source.

ellenmarygardening

Let it dry out slightly before watering again but not totally then don't let it dry out again but don't over water it. Just once a week in winter. Apparently our tap water can cause tip burn so use rainwater perhaps?

I agree with Dar @SikoMa , I find they do this when near radiators Daniel 🤔

Did you know Daniel, that spider plants do not need to be in a window? They'll survive anywhere. So take it away from any heat source and put it where you'd really like to see it. 😃😃

Thanks for all the advice @rachelbrooks @linfoster @alisonfred @mikethegardener @SikoMa @ellenmarygardening @juliesgarden @hayleyaj I've got plenty of info now to nurse it back to health. The next time I post a photo it will be fighting fit ☺

It can also happen from tap water it's a good idea to use rain water but just cut of the dry bits it's real hard for it to not get brown tips I also agree they are good in that corner with little light mine has no window at all and is huge and thriving there it just has ambient light that travels from a window in another room
