I live at the base of Mt Gravatt mountain in Brisbane. Part of Toohey Forest . A native habitat of flora & fauna. My garden is my peace. View is too.
@nej I always think of you when it comes to this. I was confused between native and Brazilian and you clarified it for me
I love this one, it's a beauty
#bluebrazilianginger #beefood as it’s #purple
That's a lovely colour 💜💜💜
I have a blue ginger plant too. So pretty. I was lucky to stumble across one out of the blue. I had been looking for one initially after my aunt passed away. Blue ginger was her favourite flower
Looking beautiful. Mine hasn't budded up yet.
#bluebrazilianginger new shoots
My favourite plant.
#bee coming in for landing on #bluebrazilianginger
Great timing & beautiful plant 😍
It’s so easy to grow in shade. @jeatacake
Got a fair bit of shade here, but not the Brazilian warmth! 😀

Does it have a scent?

Wow.. I can’t remember seeing that one before Sussanah.. beautiful..
@Sussanah @brightcolours I think this one is Brazilian blue ginger not alpinia Caerulea
I'll have to double check. The blue one might be from mum and dad's place. @nej @brightcolours
Is it the native one? Or this one: http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/fact-sheets/in-the-garden/flowering-plants-shrubs/blue-ginger/#.WCahgWUnGrU
Yes it's #blueginger #dichorisandrathyrsiflora
Yes Katie it's the same one as on burkes backyard @brightcolours
Lovely blue colour!
@gjones @karmey @brightcolours I always thought it was native ginger. No idea why I called it Brazilian.
