#birdsnestfern @brightcolours is this bird or crow. I saw on tags this was called Victoria

I’ve never heard them called crows nest before! But checked online and bird’s nest ferns are also referred to as crows nest. Wiki tells me: “Bird's-nest fern is a common name applied to several related species of epiphytic ferns in the genus Asplenium.” “Species known as bird's nest fern include: A. nidus (bird's-nest fern) A. australasicum (crow's-nest fern) A. antiquum A. serratum (wild bird's-nest fern)”

@brightcolours thanks Katie

@kez001uk @cyndi swipe left too

@Sussanah wow!!! The leaves are huge! And so are the seeds! 😯

@kez001uk hey Kerry they’re called fronds not leaves. Same for palm fronds. Ferns have spores and palms seeds. X

@Sussanah I should have put fronds, just get used to saying leaves so much 😂

No worries @kez001uk

@cyndi never know weather to call it crows or bird nest

@columbiariver Looks like it’s different to mine. Maybe nth hemisphere ? Looks this was labelled as Australian Swipe to see more pics of same plant. I never know wether to call them birds or crows. It’s in a 25mm pot inside a tub. Bit of water and out of the sun it just keeps giving.

You're right. I'll check out my fern book for better ID. Thank you. Aren't they gorgeous?
