I placed my crown of thorns next to my poinsettia plant and the crown of thorns appears to have eaten this lead where it was touching....? I am familiar with the white ooze from the poinsettia... but this is weird. Seems like the crown of thorns was eating it. No signs at all of any sort of critter...
After I posted this and fiddled around with the plants I did find part of the plant stuck to the crown of thorns. I thought it would be strange for the plant to be attacking the other. Especially since the plants blood was so fresh. Thank you for your response. :)

Could the Crown of Thorns have leaned over and torn this leaf? It looks fresh.
