I have mostly houseplants and cacti. I'm a beginner doing constant research, trying not to kill anything. USDA zones 8a and 8b.

Philodendron hastatum syn. Philodendron 'Silver Sword'

I need some, guys! I've found this on a few plants before, but idk what it is. They are tiny white specks. They wash off fairly easily, but they always come back. I've never seen any of them move. Does anyone know what they are? Or how to get rid of them? #plantadvice #pest-id #problem #advice #pests

Make a weak solution of neem oil and dish soap spray the plant down well soil too. Then you can gently wipe it down. Leave the solution in soil as it won't hurt it or plant. The wipe down is to get those off for now and see if comes back again.. if does spray and leave on for a bit.. I can't tell what this is tho from pic. The solution will be a just in case its pest issues

@cyndi Thank you so much for your response! I wish I could get a better picture, but they're so tiny. The only neem I have is the already-mixed neem spray from the store. Can I mix that with dish soap to make it? Should I add some water to that?

No problem.. and yes thats fine.. in future a tip would be find the concentrated type(can buy online as well if your stores don't sell it) last longer as well and can add small amounts when feeding plants as well for a little boost of protection. And yes you can.. make it weaker by adding water just for now.. if this is pest than can do full strength later with dishsoap added.. not a ton of soap tho just a drop or two depending on size of bottle..

The Newbie: I've slowed down quite a bit with my plant shopping, so I'm pretty sure this silver baby is still my newest addition. #thenewbie #newplant #philodendron #philodendron-hastatum #philodendron-silversword #houseplant
