Actually in most of Canada, especially on the prairies, they're known as verandahs! Here, a porch is where you hang your coat and leave your dirty shoes!

Thanks. I designed this myself, way cheaper. The spike plant comes inside for winter, prob 4 years old now. The rest are just annuals from 8 packs. @gjones

Yes, usually we get the rain a few days later. Cape Cod is one good hurricane away from being seriously damaged, and the waves always travel this far. @gjones
