Looks kinda pretty like that!

Everything looks beautiful, but walking outside today is a death wish, hehee

We had that last week. Lots of accidents and hospital emergency wards had record number of injuries for two days. We just stayed home.

Way below normal temps here last week. This week it's at least "average" cold

@lesliecole49 Aren't you in Tennessee? I didn't think it got very cold there in the winter. We did hear on the news that many areas in the states received snow, frost and colder temps. How cold does it normally get there in the winter?

The rain is strange here. Usually this is a blizzard and we get a foot or more of snow! Temps are in the 40's now @gjones @lesliecole49

Katy and Glyn, yes I'm in TN, normally, winter temps may get into the 20s (f) but this winter has been exceptionally cold! They count the 'snows' here; "they're calling for 3 snows this winter" meaning it might snow 3 times. I laugh and tell them, when I lived in Michigan, we'd get 1 snow, from November to May! I don't care for the cold, but I'll deal with it if I don't have to deal with snow! @gjones @saco

@lesliecole49 Do you think your plants will survive thru colder than usual temps? We had a light dusting of snow last night and finally more is forecast. We plant hardy to zone 3 plants but without a good covering of snow we get winterkill - will have to see how many survive come spring.

Here in New England we get it all!! 2 weeks ago we had a 60° temp swing, from -20°F to 40°F in about thirty-six hours!! The garden is always survival of the fittest @lesliecole49 @gjones

@saco @gjones Katy and Glyn, I know I've lost several because I'm sure I just didn't properly 'winter' care for them. The ones I lost were in pots. The second hard cold spell is what did them in. It's just not our 'normal' temps this year. Next year I'll have more of them in the ground where I can mulch them properly... continued...

I try to plant to my zone, but I'm finding alot of clay that I'm going to have to amend. So, my goal this year is to borrow a rototiller and let it beat me up, dig and add whatever I need to add, (I have a friend with horses) 😊 and create some garden beds. Of which I really only have two small ones right now.

Hate freezing rain! Makes the roads miserable and dangerous!
