Wondering if these might have a virus, the streaking of more intense colouring is sometimes an indication and there is a slight bit here on the standards of the flower at the front. You see it often on Katharine Hodgkin too. Will have to see what happens. Lots of bulblets though, look at all that foliage! #iris #iris-histrioides #irishistrioidessheilaanngermaney #irishistrioides

Looking back at a couple of years ago, it definitely was much more obvious, probably should have realised at the time

If they are growing so well is a virus necessarily a bad thing?

Not sure Jacqueline 🤔 - still reading up about this virus but most people have concluded it can weaken them significantly, to the point they just die and never return. I suspect I may have lost the more extreme ones I had already a couple of years ago and the healthier ones survived but might be now spreading to them. I’ll see what else I can find on the net about it. @awomanonabike

🤔 Interesting. I wonder if they develop a degree of resistance. Hope so 🤞

Have they multiplied since you had them? I'm waiting to see how many of mine come back this year. Mine are just growing outdoors. 😊 I really like this variety. Perhaps more so than Katharine Hodgkin.

Fabulous.

🤩 hope she’s ok 🚑 😉

Fingers crossed Jacqueline 🤞🏼🤞🏼 @awomanonabike

These are all bulblets now Urszula - the original bulbs have long since gone. It sure is lovely, much less yellow than Katharine Hodgkin @ublaszko

Thank you John! 😊 @johninbrighton

Me too @telswirld 🤞🏼 - I’d hate to lose them!

Slightly shorter in statue, and much thicker blooms, Iris histrioides has some attractive cultivars too - Iris histrioides 'Sheila Ann Germaney'. I think may have a 'sport' (colour variation which has occurred) on the right hand side, has some lovely blue streaking 💙 #Iris #iris-histrioides #irishistrioidessheilaanngermaney *UPDATE more likely virus causing the streaking

Wow💙

Fabulous.

Pretty 💙

@richard.spicer.7906 I've got this one this year too. 😊

Iris histrioides 'Sheila Ann Germaney' - pale blue/white with yellow and deeper blue markings. Also planted 18th September 2016 #iris #iris-histrioides #bulbs #bulb-addict #irishistrioidessheilaanngermaney
Sheila’s sprung out from no where! It seems some of my Iris are actually performing well for once this year. Maybe they liked that near 'cooked' experience last summer when we had that heatwave? 😂 #iris #irishistrioides #iris-histrioides #irishistrioidessheilaanngermaney #dwarfiris
Lovely shade of blue 💙
It’s gorgeous Elise 💙 similar to the variety Katharine Hodgkin but no yellow blush, just the stripe @Auricula
#trueblue
Darker than some, but gorgeous all the same! 💙💛💙
A pale beauty 💙💛💙
Sheila’s a beauty…such pretty markings and delicate colours 👌
Hey rich just a quick question for you mate. We have fig trees in huge terracotta pots. They have tons off fruit in them this year. How do we protect these over winter. Cheers 🍻
