Well hello 'Sylvia' 😀👋🏼, your looking mighty fine right now! #dahlia #orange
It's a little similar to 'David Howard' - clearly a similar colour but petal shape is slightly different too. And the foliage is just green (no darkness or bronze colouring).
Looks perfect to me Richard 😍👌
Sylvia is beautiful😊
Wow Sylvia sure is #stunning 💛💛
Amazing 🤗🤗😀😀🖒🖒

So little time at the moment, missing all my GT friends and updates 😢. I did, however, have time to do some essential tasks at the wkd. Dug my Dahlia tubers up. When digging, allow plenty of room so that you don't damage the tubers as they will be much bigger in size than when you planted them at the beginning of the year! I've taken off as much soil as possible, and now balancing them upside down in the garage to let as much moisture drain out. I'll leave like this for about 2-3 weeks.
Good tips as always Rich 🙌
Cheers @justin 🙌🏼
Thanks for the advice
Hi Rich @richard.spicer.7906 I'm so lucky I can keep mine in the ground during winter. With 20 #dahlias i would have little space to winter them.
No probs Joan 👍🏼😀 @joanboston
I see what you mean Steve 😳, I struggle to find a home for 2 let alone 20! 😂 @lamaisonbleueoleron
Do the tubers grow in size year on year @richard.spicer.7906 ? 🤓
I think they are a bit like potatoes in some respect - these ones are definitely double in size. You tend to lose a couple of smaller ones over the winter so they reduce a bit 🤓 @debs69
Thanks @richard.spicer.7906 🤓 🤓👍
Interesting. Thank you Richard 👍

Ok - enough bulb pics for one night. There are quite a few more but will add them to my plant lists over the next few weeks gradually. Here's one of the last few flowers from Dahlia 'Sylvia' - almost time to put her to bed before winter. ❄️💤 #dahlia #orange #latebloomer #sylvia
She's definitely a stunner!
Gorgeous colour 👌🏼 I think you need one of these @SylviaDavies 👍🏼😊 do you take yours out Rich? Or just give them a nice warm mulch?
Love the colour
Splendid!

Hi @rachelbrooks 😊👋🏼 - I'm gonna be lifting mine but only once the first frosts arrive and blacken the foliage. To scared to leave them in the ground as it can get quite cold here in Hertfordshire over winter. Will probably keep them in a box full of shredded paper, either in garage or loft 👍🏼
Hmm...I was planning to leave mine in over here in sunny Essex 😂 With a nice blanket of mulch and maybe a cloche...every time I decide I change my mind 🙄
Now that's a stunner 👌📸👌Richard one for the wish list thanks 👌📝👌
