This bud has taken forever, it appeared just before Christmas and stalled, but it’s now on the move. It was a little open yesterday but too cold today and firm shut, clearly not warm enough to trigger its thermonastic movement👍🏼 #thermonasty #crocus #crocus-alatavicus

I do love how many unusual varieties you have. Always see things I’ve never heard of before 🤩

Is this your new one? Love the ones with darker markings on the outside.

Thanks Kerry! 😊 there are so many different varieties, but sometimes it’s nice to grow the species ones. I have found a few specialist suppliers, so you can usually get the more unusual ones. More expensive though usually as they are not often grown on mass in Holland and grown locally by the specialist nursery. @kez001uk

It is 😄 although newish, I bought it in 2018. It was an extremely small corm so didn’t flower last year. I’m actually surprised it is this year but won’t complain 😁 @ublaszko

@richard.spicer.7906 always nice to have something a little different ☺️ and much more satisfying tracking the rare ones down

Hopefully, now that it's big enough to flower it will multiply and give you more flowers next year. 😊 My crocus tommasinianus have gone crazy last year and I probably should have divided them in autumn.

Oh dear, best set a reminder for this year then 😉 make sure you label them up before they die back otherwise you might forget where they are! @ublaszko

I put plant labels around them so I know where they are after they're done flowering and don't accidently dig them up.

Few updates of new plants - could this be my first spring crocus flower of the season? It didn’t flower last year, but the colouring of this one is very unusual. Won’t be long before I finally see it! It has black/grey speckling on the outside, and white inner petals #crocus #crocus-alatavicus
