Malva sylvestris ssp mauritiana 'Bibor Felho'. Photographed, 7 August 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. An old cottage garden favourite and cousin to the Hollyhock. Stunning saucer shaped blooms smother the foliage all summer long. The rich purple, hibiscus-like flowers, have darker veining, and are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs). They are pollinated by bees. #Malva #BiborFelho #richpurple #veining #bees #hermaphrodite #reediecottagegarden
