Morning Richard, I did the same to my elder too and have a few flower heads but they've yet to actually bloom, looks wonderful 👏👏

They crept up on me this year, I hadn’t even noticed the buds until it flowered. @jpea

Is that sambucus black lace? I have just purchased this and was quite excited to learn that you can use the flowers to make elder flower cordial. I would alternate wait for the berry this year, apparently you have to be quick otherwise the birds will have them all. Then next harvest the flowers.

I can vouch for that @LavenderPath the berries lasted 3 days tops last year on mine 😊

Yes @LavenderPath it's black lace. I really want to try the cordial as I've heard it will make it pink. I'll let the birds have some of the berries (or maybe they'll let me!)

This is exciting - I didn't know you could use this for cordial too! Didn't think it was edible.

Yes @vjsummers I've heard that it tastes better than common elder, so fingers crossed.
