Help me identify this plant Does anyone have any clues? The leaves have spikey points on them. Is it a type of holly? @cyndi @jeatacake @kimguy @ShelleySnyder @columbiariver @KariSamuel I do have a couple of holly bushes on my property.....then this guy here. He's the only one like it I've found so far.
Thank you @cyndi Yes...its not very big and I'm sure it's been here for a while. It's in my tree line that fences off part of my property. It's not in a good location. I'll have to look up how maybe to take and transplant or root some cuttings of it and try it somewhere else. 👍☺
Cool. I've never been able to locate nice ones here in Wisconsin. I agree with @cyndi - dig it up gently. The worst thing that could happen is that you break part of it off... Ta-da! Propagation experiment time!! 😏
Thanks @cyndi 😘 I will try to be careful with it if I do dig it up...lol @KariSamuel .....but I might not cause it does look like a type of mahonia... @jeatacake pointed out ....some like the shade. It looks kinda like Oregon Grape Holly aka Mahonia Aquifolium . I think I also have some other varieties of holly or Mahonia on my land too now that I've gotten back into the woods where boyfriend is clearing me out an area for a walk through shade garden.
