We live in E. Washington (more S. Central), just N of the Columbia River Gorge. 5 acres of pasture, garden, flowers, and lawn. Zone 6b.
This is the only other pic I have of these plants.
@treefrog44 This is the only other pic I have of them at this time. Most of them have died back.
Nope, not milkweed...leaves do not match...I will keep looking :)
They grow kind of in a bunch. They look like they've come back a few times. They started blooming again a bit, but I didn't take pics. I'll try to get another one tomorrow.
I have seen this before, can't put my finger on it...#plantid @KariSamuel @bpetty55 @brightcolours @tinaaune @columbiariver @Keely @MelanieAt
Think it's red valerian/Jupiter's beard...https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/valerian/growing-jupiters-beard-plant.htm
I think you're right. I'll try to get a pic of what is still up tomorrow. See if we can confirm.
Nice investigation @treefrog44 ! And yes, it's a #jupitersbeard, parts are #edible and they are loved by butterflies and bees!
Thanks @KariSamuel I get lots of practice here! lol!
Agree it is red valerian it self seeds too so more plants 😃 @treefrog44 @KariSamuel

#plantid I love these pink flowers.
Can't see the leaves...break a leaf off if a white milky sap comes out you have swamp milkweed :)
I think I might have another picture of these that might have the leaves. I'll look.
