I have inherited this plant from a family friend who was 96 years old when she past. It was her great Aunt’s and she had inherited it 50 years ago from her.

What a treasure to inherit.

Not an aspidistra. Do you know how to change the plant name?
@brightcolours. I just used the ID on this site. I typed in Cast Iron plant and the details came up. I’m flat out remembering the common name let alone any other hehe.
@brightcolours I have always been told that this is a cast iron plant. It’s as tough as iron anyway and this plant is at least 50 years old if not older. This is the flower from it. If it’s not a cast iron plant what is it?
@nero1279 Cast iron plant does bloom but the flower is always at the base and is covered by the leaves. Most never see the flower due to this.
@maldavis is right. “The flowers are rather insignificant and are often not seen at all. They appear near the base of the plant in early summer, however they do not appear regularly.” www.nurseriesonline.com.au/plant-index/indoor-plants/aspidistra-elatior/

This is a eucharis lily @brightcolours
Eucharis (grandiflora/amazonica). Amazon lilly, Eucharis lily. Family: Amaryllidaceae (Amaryllis). Sophisticated elegance and beautiful perfume. On my wish list. Thank you @brightcolours @nej @katyb @nero1279 🦋
WOW, thanks guys. I shall now go and apologise to my Amazon Lily for calling it a wrong name! I have never noticed a scent either. I may have to get a little closer!
