Absolutely love to get in the garden when I can. Love birds, fish and plants. I live in the heart of Sydney suburbia on an average block of land
That’s so pretty.
Thank you @suerichards
That’s unusual Nej is it scented. 😊
Is that Plectranthus verticillatus? (Swedish ivy / Swedish begonia / whorled plectranthus) #plectranthus
@suerichards the leaves have a spicy scent but the flowers don't smell
@brightcolours I think it is plectranthus verticillatus but not absolutely sure. The leaves have burgundy underside.
It’s #weedy in SE Queensland and is surprisingly hard to eradicate... https://keyserver.lucidcentral.org/weeds/data/media/Html/plectranthus_verticillatus.htm
“Some of the stems and underside of the leaves were purple in colour but as the plant grew in more bright light, the colouring disappeared.” www.greenobsessions.com/swedish-ivy/
Yours looks very happy!!
Trailing Plectranthus flowering now
Do you cut it back regularly or just at the end of flowering?
#brightcolours after it flowers and mid spring and mid summer. That helps it to branch 🌿 and put on loads of flowers 💐
That's what I do too. Athough I've different #plectranthus from either of the ones you've posted. This trailing ones lovely.
@brightcolours I also have one more called plectranthus argentatus it's silver and a native. Is that the one you have
I have several. But know none of their names... Will have to take some photos and post...
@brightcolours yes please!!
