Did I kill this rose when I transplanted it, or will it come back in the spring?

I don't know roses well, but it looks pretty dead. I would wait until spring tho. You never know what may come up

I cut it down, just about halfway, and it started coming back. Just gotta wait for spring now and see how it does.
