As the summer weeks go by, perennial cornflowers can start to look a little shabby, a bit tired and a tad mildewy. If this has happened to yours, cut it back to about 3"/9cm and give it a good water & feed and within a few days fresh green foliage and more flowers will follow. #advice #cornflower
I always go round and give things a haircut. I don't stick with the Chelsea chop if I think it's getting a bit out of hand or straggly it gets a little chop here and there and then generally thickens out and makes a better plant.
@keithyb Hi Keith, I don't feed mine, they tend to do their own thing. Why do you ask? Are they not flowering? A general tomato feed would be my suggestion. 😊

Great tip Mike - mine are just starting to look a bit like this now, so think I'll give them a haircut too 👍🏼
What do I feed it with Mike please?

Oh you said you cut them back and give them a good water and feed above? They grow beautifully doing nothing to them apart water
