#gyo #raspberry

Hello @LLW It's my first year of growing raspberries, should I cut of the flowers to promote root growth?

@stiggdogg I’ve found that new plants which don’t want to fruit just don’t. If your raspberry has flowers, I’d just leave it and enjoy the fruit, even if it’s only a few. I’m not quite sure why cutting the flowers would affect root growth since roots are the plants way of finding water and nutrients from the soil.

I read that if you cut the flowers off then the plant focuses its energy on root growth instead of flower production @LLW

#gyo #raspberry #fruit To net or not to net that is the question .....

I'm trying not to net but keeping bird feeder stocked up as a distraction.

@Diane76 It's a dilemma I face every year and usually, a well stocked bird feeder, next door's cherry tree (and lots of bird feeders) and the threat of my little tabby huntress seems to save most of my fruit!
