@kimguy while I am far from an expert it looks to be too wet. If you have new moss or bark with charcoal repot it but don't pack the moss in tight it crowds out the roots. A good resource for orchids is the American orchid society, there are also some good videos on u tube. Hope this helps. Keep in mind you must water sparingly or the root will rot.
Thanks Judy @ripjuju , I went on your feed and could tell that I needed to remove that moss. These plants must have been watered before they were gifted to me. They were so wet. I Wil check out that site😎💜
I'm almost giving up on orchids! Some say don't let it dry out- others say don't overwater or you get root rot! Some say low to medium light and then I see photos on here where they're sitting on windowsills. I'm winging it and hope I'll succeed!😁 Mine has bloomed once and has a small flower spike forming so I'm keeping fingers crossed!
p. allen smith has excellent video on orchids. mine is in west window new blooms comming on. do not pack moss or bark will rot. 1/4 cup rain water each week. occasional tepid shower to dust. good luck.
Gorgeous. There was a doctor where I worked who had a window full of orchids, always blooming. She had them in a long dish with water and marbles. The marbles keep the plant from sitting in the water. But they soak it in through foliage. I'm trying this with some of the tropicals I have and they're doing really well. Just more information to store away. This is a fab color!
