Strange isn't it. My Christmas cactus is flowering away.

That is incredible. Looks like it gets lots of sun as some of the leaves are a pretty deep pink. You hit the jackpot with this one. 👍👍💗💗

Very welcome Kerry. I got mine last fall and it has flowered twice. I keep having to remind myself to turn the pot so buds will set on all sides. Was so surprised when it flowered the second time. Yours will be lovely. 👍💕

One of mine didn’t flower a couple of years ago Kerry, not sure why 🤔 do you ignore it for a few months or so after flowering??

Just been to my mum in laws and hers is flowering. She's had it for years, in her old house it was on a south facing window sill and flowered in November but in this house it's on a north facing window and has flowered in January!

@sieveheadsarah I got it late 2018 and it flowered but never since. It’s been in the same place the whole time but have been told it needs at least 12 hours of darkness a day to flower. I’m just too forgetful to keep moving it 😂

@lilybee I have mine in a south facing window so maybe a shift might be needed. Must be the reduced light that’s got it blooming. Worth a try, thank you Sue ☺️

I have alot of new growth on mine too. Only a few flowers this year tho. I'm not going to do the light/dark bit to it tho, I'm a bit lazy in that dept

@lesliecole49 I must admit I’m the same with these that need specific light conditions. They just tend to get left to do their own thing 😂 at least yours gave you some flowers 😁

After mine flower Kerry they go into the lean to where I forget about them for a while, no water for about a month, then an occasional water, they will look a bit sad, then I up the watering about 4 months before they’re supposed to flower and bring them back inside about 2 months before flowering, also they are by a window with plenty of light but no direct sun. 👍🏼😀

Mine does not look happy at all!

@bluefox23 you’d think they were easy plants but seem to need a bit of effort 😜 indoor plants are not my strong point 😫

Well I do pretty well with indoor plants and succulents generally but not sure what these need!

Do your plants that are in pots survive the winter?

@maldavis they do Mark, for the most part 😂 I move some tender ones into the greenhouse but the vast majority stay where they are and do ok 😛

I was recently elected as VP of the Upstate Daylily Society. Not sure if I'm up for it.

How pretty I’d never seen a white one pretty pretty. I have a Xmas one and everyone’s blooming except mine🥵😱🤬😢😢🤔🤔😊💕. Anyone have any suggestions I heard 18 hours of darkness maybe I’ll do that right now. But I wonder how many nights?? Everyone have a great night. I had to go and wrap a few of my bougainvilleas that are in the ground @ShelleySnyder do u wrap urs??

@terrimclaughlin sorry, I don't have any bougainvilleas, wish I did!😉💘😍 Oh by the way I don't do anything special to my Thanksgiving cactus and it blooms about 3 times a year, not heavy mind you but it does bloom 🤔

@kez001uk lovely 😊 never seen a white one before 😍 @terrimclaughlin I'd advise put in dark for 8-10 hours at night then in brightly lit room but not sunlight during the day until little tiny buds form then u can just leave it out 🤞😊
