Almost as tall as the Flowering Almond 😲 #red-hot-poker #kniphofia #kniphofia-nobilis
Looks like a beautiful day in your garden!
@jmlincoln it was too lovely 🥵 27°c, way hotter than we are used to 😂 thank god I was gardening in the shade 🙏🏻
That is a warm day, indeed! We are at the time of the year where it's cold, windy and rainy one day and pure, hot sunshine the next 😜 A little whacky but the plants love it 😆
@jmlincoln keeps you guessing huh 😜 I much prefer that kind of weather pattern to a week straight of vile heat 🥵
I couldn't agree more @kez001uk

Nice 👍🏻 I’m wanting to thin mine out but there’s a wren nesting in it 😊
Lovely flower ❤️❤️
Super specimen 🤩
@vegandmore thanks Christine 😀 wow! Must be huge to have a nest in it 😮
@hkyfvr thanks Diane 😃
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😄
Very welcome Kerry 😁
At least something has enjoyed the endless rain 😂 #red-hot-poker #kniphofia #kniphofia-nobilis
I bet its about 7 ft tall is it....😃
Wow, is this earlier than usual Kerry?
@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom it bl@@dy well should be! 🤣🤣🤣
@sieveheadsarah I just looked back and it’s about the same as last year, maybe a little behind. Are they not meant to flower yet? 😜
I think i think that as mine is always way behind everyone else’s Kerry, it doesn’t flower until July, maybe that’s normal for it, I’ll have to look it up.
@sieveheadsarah I did read up and said anywhere from spring to late summer. Very vague 😆
I looked mine up and it is a later one Kerry, July to September, I have no patience 🤣😂
@sieveheadsarah oh I know that feeling 😂 wisteria is testing mine! 😡
Kerry my Constance Elliot is testing mine big time this year, it’s less than pathetic at the moment, compared to this time last year 😵💫
@sieveheadsarah hopefully she’s just delayed because of the colder weather. This coming week should pep her right up 🤞🏻☀️
Fingers crossed Kerry 🤞🏻

Love these, not sure whether mine will flower this year as it had to be moved when the front garden was done and it spent quite a while in a pot 🧡🤔
@cyndi I agree! Used to love them as a kid and so glad I finally got one to flower 🥰
@sabbanrula thanks Rula 😛
@pelly I guess the move may delay it flowering til next year 😐 this one is in a pot and think it’s created a second plant already 😜
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😊
@brugman thank you Ivan ☺️
@gjones they’re great aren’t they 🤩 so exotic looking I think 🧡💛
Can’t wait to see this open, I’ve planted some that are out of date and keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼 lol
On its way to looking red hot, love the transitions the flower takes to getting end result, fab shot Kerry.
Starting to heat up! 👍
Love that knobbly nobilis 👌👏
Fantastic flowers they look so exotic
@Mary200631 they’re great looking things aren’t they 😛 I’ve tried to grow them a few times and never had success until now, with a cheap root from Tesco! 😂 I wish you luck with yours 🤞🏻
@solly1961 thanks Mark 😛 it’s my first ever one so I’ve been enjoying watching it progress. They’re fast once they get going!
@jeatacake I’m so happy it is 😁 always wanted one. I remember them from my uncles garden when I was little. Fascinated me back then and think they do even now 🤓
@gardengimp isn’t it great 😛 although now I want more varieties 🙈 I blame you entirely! 😂
@alan1111 they have a tropical look about them don’t they 😛 can’t wait to see it in all its glory 🧡💛
@kez001uk Guilty as charged m'lud 😝😀
First ever flower 🥳 #red-hot-poker #kniphofia #kniphofia-nobilis
Nice one Kerry! 👏 🔥
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😀 several attempts and no luck until now 😁
@belindah still get excited to see things flower for the first time 😂
Oh me too Kerry! Every year, and especially when my red hot pokers start emerging! My parent gave me 5 of them from their garden and I'm so excited that they've now increased to 8!!!😀😆@kez001uk
@belindah that’s lovely, makes you think of them whenever they grow 😁 I didn’t even know they multiplied 😯 I might have 2 by 2025 🤣🤣🤣
It was the next year after I planted them even that they grew another!
@belindah oh wow! Reckon you must have a magic touch with them! 😛
They were so well established in my parents garden that I tried my best to find a similar spot in my garden so they'd be happy 😊💚🧡❤💛
@belindah think that’s the trick, knowing where things like to be. Just that isn’t always where they tell you on the instructions 😂
Yep definitely.... my parents ones are positioned in a well drained, corner by the fence so fairly sheltered from wind, with sun at least half of the day.
