@gjones had a little growth spurt. How are yours doing?

Well they're definitely slow growers! I'll take a photo later today so you can see ours. Yours have grown since your last photo! Like ours, at this stage they all look like the same variety of cactus😄

@gjones they really aren’t in a hurry 🤣 and one is far less speedy than the others too! They have got bigger and a lot taller, I’ll post another view tomorrow 😊 they do seem to be enjoying the greenhouse so hope they’ll get even bigger by summers end 🤞🏻 Look forward to seeing yours 😁

@gjones little progress update: have 4 now 😁 and they all have a fluffy spike 😅 2 red like the top one, a bright green one like the top one, and a 3-pointed one at the bottom. Can’t wait to see what they turn into but should at least have 2 different types ☺️ how are yours doing?

I like that red one (so cute) and that 3 pointed one is cool!. From the first batch we planted (more common varieties), we have 9 that are living but still small. From the second batch (rarer varieties), we have 2 that have germinated. It's cute how even the itsy bitsy cactus have little tufts of spines. I'll post another photo in a week or so😊

@gjones that’s not a bad germination rate! Think I only got 4 from 25 seeds 🙈 I thought so too! Wasn’t expecting their needles already 😜 looking forward to seeing yours 😁

@ublaszko they are so so tiny but hopefully not for long 😅

If you bought a mixed pkg of seeds, they'll continue to germinate for the next couple of months (our pkg said some can take up to a year). More of yours may germinate soon.😊

@gjones funny you should say that, I just checked on them and there’s a new member of the family today 😂 I will definitely keep the tray for a while, read before that some seeds can take over a year to germinate 😜

@kez001uk Do you find they sprout fairly quickly, grow to about an inch tall and then they seem to stall?

Hopefully, they will bulk up over spring and summer 😊

@gjones I do! These look to me like they’ve not moved in weeks! Must be a typical behaviour, maybe needing more heat before they take off again

We planted a pkg of mixed cactus seeds too. The first 5 germinated quite quickly and look about the same size as yours. We have no idea what they'll be but it's a fun project😊

@gjones yours look fantastic! I’m surprised any germinated for me since it’s been so cold in the greenhouse. But I’m determined to try keep these going 😂 if only to find out what they grow into 😛 it’s quite exciting 😁
