@columbiariver I remember you saying about aphids ☹️ I’m taking a risk and leaving it out for the first winter. It’s still flowering away after a few nights of frost. I’m guessing they don’t do hardier ones that would survive your winters?
@columbiariver I am with you on the aphids! I bring just 2 plants in over winter, / bougainvilleas, and the aphids last year drove me mad. Doused with bug spray every week now but still getting some 😡 thank you Laura ☺️
I know what you mean. I love them. I'm zone 5b so I was bringing them in the house for winter which isn't a problem at all. I was constantly battling aphids on them during winter and they got very bad, getting all over my other plants. I tossed them 😲😟 I haven't had any problem with winter aphids since
@terrimclaughlin age should allow you to do as you like! I'm over 60 and if I want to rock over-the-knee boots and silver polish, (or whatever) I sure will! Don't let age stop you from doing things you want and make you feel good! That's what helps keep you young inside too
A challenge! We're going to see if tulip trees will grow here. That'll be our challenge as we're going to try and grow a few from seed. Info we've read said they grow 2' per year so if they germinate it just might work!
@ShelleySnyder apparently it is. @robert1961 has one and it’s survived outdoors through a few winters so here’s hoping 😁 they had a stunning variegated one too but that isn’t hardy so thought I’d better give myself a fighting chance 🤣
@ShelleySnyder ooooooh I’ll have to go look at yours 😍 I had no idea they had other colours 😋 I bought it from an online nursery and was such a good price too. Such a shame they can’t send over to you 😢
