I had the same trouble with yesterday's pelargonium, I must get Phil's Nikon out and experiment, tripod too as I get so many blurry photos, it's finding the time isn't it?!! Its sunny and still in the garden right now, no time like the present! Watch this space... Have a great Friday, anything nice planned for the weekend?

Interesting looking almost alien like faces! Are they seed pods? 👽

I don't know actually Debra but I'm assuming so 😁 @debs69

Indeed they are @justin @debs69 - they will take a few years to reach flowering size but one way to increase your numbers. I tend to prefer growing them straight from corms.

Mine just march onwards and upwards . Have trouble containing them . Back and front garden . They pop up everywhere ! Presumeably the birds must drop the seeds!

Mine too June, they just seem to spread of their own accord! @junebensted @richard.spicer.7906 thanks again for the info

Mine are still flowering but maybe a different variety plus location must play a part too. Will wait for seed pods to appear and see if I can get them to grow as an experiment 🐰

My montbretia is blind for the third year running, any advise please?

justin

Hi @julie.stevens.946 I always feed them in the spring with compost or a bit or blood fish and bone. They don't like to get too crowded so you may have to divide in spring before they start to grow. I've always found they're best grown in full sun and the ground should be kept moist but free draining

Sorry - going a bit comment mad this morning! :) this looks incredible. I've been uming and ahing whether to buy one of these but this year I'm not including any orange at all... In person, do they still have that orangey tint to them? The buds look pretty stunning even before the flowers!

justin

No worries 😉 happy to help! The standard Crocosmia Montbretia is always orange but I opted for this Lucifer variety which always sports red flowers only. There is a hybrid of the two so one that flowers with orange and red petals and it's called Montbretia 'Emily McKenzie'. It's dead easy to grow and always looks really pretty @wallington
