I like perennials, house plants, & interesting plants. I would like to get more plants native to my area & that attract butterflies. USDA zone 9a.

Thank you @angeljen ! I also love the color. It's original color was a deep red but I find the flowers get more pink with every year.

My two #redrocketcrepemyrtle trees 😍 They are recovering from the damage received by my 5 year old who likes to destroy everything. The little one on the right will take a while to catch up. #crepemyrtle

I've been growing two #redrocketcrepemyrtle trees for a few years that came from cuttings on my parents trees. They have only gotten to about 3 feet. My 5 year old decided since they didn't have any leaves that they were dead and he broke off most of the branches.😠 This one pictured is now just a stick of about 10 inches. 😢 I really hope it continues growing. 🙏

It might so keep fingerscrossed cus #crepemyrtle can get shoots at base and can be cut all way to ground and regrow like almost all trees can. Let's hope the roots were healthy and strong.. make a circle around the base and remove all weeds and grass to help the tree not fight for nutrients then feed with slow release food then add some compost and mulch in that "circle" put up a small boarder with anything you like like stones cute boarder fence(they make short ones) or brick etc

I had one do the same thing! I thought it might be because that area I put it in was already so full of huge old tree roots. Good luck!
