I like perennials, house plants, & interesting plants. I would like to get more plants native to my area & that attract butterflies. USDA zone 9a.

Euphorbia tirucalli 'Rosea'

Exactly 2 months later and I have #roots on my #firesticks ! I tried some in soil and some in water. It seems in my climate they do better in soil.

This is such an interesting plant. The description doesn't mention it, and you may already know this, but the fire stick is toxic @Jenny10 . Keep away from kids and animals. Love that planter!!

@shawnasea thank you! yes I have it on a plant stand where the pets won't mess with it. And I've talked to my kids about it.

Not sure if they have roots, but I have a large fire stick plant and have taken a few cuttings and have given a few cuttings away. I found that I had better luck rooting them in water rather than soil. Both were very difficult. I had to be patient and my water cuttings have barely taken root after over a month and all of my soil cuttings have died. Hopefully this advice helps.

Thank you @sarahkbartley no they do not have roots yet. All I had read said to let them heal 1 week and then stick them in soil. I'll have to try the water.

I read that you can put them in soil as well, but from personal experience, I didn't have luck with soil. It might have been my growing zone, so you never know. I'd trust your instincts.

I’m in the subtropics and it’s tough as boots here. Easy to propagate.

@taylork yes I love them too and have been wanting one. I was very careful with them. Hopefully these will grow. The plant they came from is so lush and beautiful.
