I tried hunting this issue up. Couldnt find anything. Do you see any type of bug or webs anything to say what type bug it might be to help id this issue.

3w
comment
jennlamaye

It’s very weird. It was only on the first two leaves, the ones that emerged from the soil. I assumed it was white flies? @cyndi

Use soap and neem on soil leaves etc. Should fix the issue. Cut and burn bad leaves. Got a fire place lol .

3w
comment

@cyndi chopped and neemed. That was my first instinct, but after reading about it I won’t be able to sleep. So glad I washed up right after and that my pup and little one didn’t have access to it.

Put the plant in another area for sick plants if not there already. Glad they didnt have access either. All will be well.

@columbiariver @KariSamuel and another friend think mites. I think so too. Don’t look it up. You won’t sleep at night. 😳

Sorry you're seeing this. Our maple trees get hit often with galls. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.ispotnature.org/node/867991&ved=0ahUKEwjRweXy1KHYAhUY92MKHTExB5sQFghmMAw&usg=AOvVaw3jMdNfoe0JC1VxGiQCHThK ** #leafgalls #gall

@columbiariver all I can think is that the mites were on the seed pod, or in the seeds, or in the soil I bought. 😒

Just to let y’all know I was just going through things that life throws at us. I found out I have that COPD. Which won’t kill me and now I have to wear these leg pressure units that are motorized twice a day an hour at a time. For blood clots in my feet. So I was just mad but I’m good now just thought I owed everyone an explanation

Plant the seeds while the weather is still warm, covering them with 1/4th inch of compost or good soil. Keep the seed tray in bright light and maintain moist but not wet soil. Seedlings that come up this fall will be one-gallon size by spring with warmth and light over the winter.
