I really only started gardening six weeks ago, when I moved into my forever home. Apparently I've got some great beginners luck--or just a green thumb

Actual plant size and girth are much larger than this photo shows. I bought this one from an organic market with very few plants (even fewer were still alive), and I planted it in a pot at home. It had rich, well drained soil, but nevertheless within one week of having it, I was shocked to see it was dead. There was no sign of life, but instead of trashing it I planted it in my garden. Now it's been six weeks and I've never seen such an enormous healthy thyme plant. Use it a lot in cooking
