Sarah and I are complete novices in the garden. We have just moved into a new home with a VERY large mature garden and need to learn quickly!

Thank you very much, my wife and I are very much beginners at gardening. We have just moved into a new home and it has a VERY large, well established garden which has clearly been neglected for the last 2-3 years. We're not doing much with it this year but are doing our best to try to identify what we have. Our first problem was to differentiate between flowers and weed!

It is Crocosmia if it has orange flowers it will be Montbretia, red flowers it is Lucifer which are more often than not taller

Thank you Kathy, hopefully in the coming weeks I'll be able to give it a name. Really appreciate everyone's help.
