So this is now my #stromanthetriostar #cutting. Scroll back to see it before but I was wondering since it has alot of roots and decent looking ones can it still grow? #plantquestion #planthelp I'm so devasated it looks like this and how? Its in water so it's not like it dried out from not watering. Ugh

Cut off the dead, make sure it's gotten a real good root system and then plant it up, can't hurt you got nothing to lose!💘😍

Will it not matter if it has no leaves? I mean I guess I have propagated stems of things before I have a very very long pothos I proagated from stems with NO leaves @ShelleySnyder

No it won't matter, even though you think they are dead they are still taking much needed energy from the stem you are trying to root, so it's always best to remove dead or deceased leaves from newly rooting plants!💘😍

When i do cuttings i cut bottom leaves off leave only a few up top and depending on type of plant i cut those leaves in half. It puts energy into rooting not leaf production and then when you get good strong healthy roots leaves will start growing
