Always loved to potter in the garden but only really in the last couple of years, have I embraced it by redesigning our space and growing from seed
Hope these make the thistle stage before it gets too cold ☺️
Aren't you going eat it😲? @hayleyaj
No its ornamental! 😂 @cee
Are there different varieties of Globe Artichokes? Because the Globe Artichokes my sister has grown are edible and delicious😊😊 @hayleyaj
No it is edible but I've grown for the thistle that's comes as they go to seed 😁 @cee
👍🏻👍🏻the flowers are lovely, although it would be in my pot quicker than you can say thistle🤣🤣 @hayleyaj
Lots of heads on these, means lots of #thistles for our 🐝 friends to feast on 😁 #seedgrown
Oh my! Can you see it?! I have a rather large bloom forming! Hard to believe that this huge plant grew from one teeny tiny seed this year! And it's going to get bigger and bigger! 😁😁😁
I had one and had to take it out Hayley. It was a monster 👹
Laura, you sent me these seeds didn't you? ☺️ @columbiariver
I'm happy to have a monster Julie! Given I've tried numerous times until this success with seeds ☺️ @vec
Don't say I didn't warn you when you decide its too big and you want to try and dig out the root 😂🤣😃😋
Ha ha!! Well I'll happily admit defeat then and give you a shout to sort it for me!! 😂😂 @vec
Oh no you don't. They'll be no #iblamejulie on this one 😛😛😛
No I won't blame you, but as you've experience of "the roots" 😱 then you know how to dig out! 😂😂😂 @vec
Brute force, give up and ask Mr vec 😁😋😀
Ok what's his number?! 😂😂😂 @vec
I did! Fantastic! Yours is the first to flower! Very cool! Mine is getting there slowly. Thanks Hayley! Tom, check it out @tkept
Love the leaves on these. Silver tinged green 😍#seed grown
Love all the different leaf textures there Hayley!💘😍
Looking fab Hayley 😍
Love the leaves 💚💚💚
Also growing well! 😁 @columbiariver 😍
@hayleyaj have you grown these before?
No it's the first time, I want them for my Tropical bed as the leaves are so architectural and the blooms fab for #bees @sventress
Ah cool @hayleyaj first time growing for me too!
Ooh let's compare notes on progress Sean 😁 @sventress
This is about the size of mine from seed too Hayley. I hope they have time to blossom well. I also bought one for safe measure...
They are fast growing Laura (apparently!) 😂😂 @columbiariver
Hope you have the space they grow huge!
I know Lin! Part of my #tropical bed plan 😊 @linfoster
I grew them at my allotment
Great plants. I’ve had mine for about 4 years and they never disappoint.
It's there honestly! A tiny baby! More in other pots in the greenhouse too, but found this one poking her head up today 😁😁 @linfoster
Oh yeah I just about see it 👍🤣
It's huge! 😂😂 @greenfinger14 @linfoster
Measurements please 🤨
OMG! I'm so excited! For 3 years I've tried to grow these from seed for their ornamental appeal! And I now have seedlings poking through! To dark to take a pic in greenhouse tonight but will post one when I can see it in daylight! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😍😍😍
I grew echinops last year but they didn't flower and they are back again this year so I'm hopeful 😊
I have a couple of Echinops in the garden. Mine didn't either but looking good this year. These globe artichokes can grow up to 5ft! @elsie 😁
Exciting times 😊
