How funny, we’ve got yellow and purple and previous years they’d be coming out by now.

I know you are unhappy it’s waterlogged but it’ll be really happy. I put these in my Mums pond and they thrive. They are naturally water loving plants 🌱 🙏🏼

@pixierose these are bearded iris, I thought they rotted in water? I know flag iris like water.

@Hayley.R oh sorry 😐 forgive me I didn’t read properly. Yes you’re right they like their rhizomes to sit at the top of well drained soil. Yours could be planted a little too deep. Apologies again. Can you fork around the area to help drain the water?? Apply some light grit to the holes. 🤔🙏🏼

It's on top of soil ( although this photo makes it look deep). I took photo from side. It's just all pants, it's drained off again now and the rhizome looks and feels ok. I only planted them in that spot for the sun. We found field drains and every thing last year when we was digging it out. @pixierose iv just had a look at next doors and her grass his higher than mine so I'm guessing her might be draining off onto mine 😔

@Hayley.R oh hun you’ll be fighting a losing battle if their grass is higher than yours. Glad it’s drained off now. Is there another spot in your garden it would be safer? 🤔

Sadly not 😢. Neighbours have 2 massive conifers that block light in certain spots in day for hours. I might just make it into a raised bed, or pull them out over winter. 🤔😔 @pixierose
