Question - I planted some jalapenos around the bell peppers. This one particular plant is growing some short fat jalapenos. Do you think it could be a hybrid? It's the only plant growing the short fat ones lol
@GardenNymph I’ve read where that can happen with heirloom tomatoes if you have different varieties planted close by. I’ve never had it happen so far though. But if that’s true, why not peppers. Now you gave me something to try and look up. 😁👍
@tkept let me know what you find lol interesting science experiment. I am going to separate the seeds just in case
@GardenNymph I just googled it. I asked google “ can pepper plants of different varieties cross pollinate ? “. The answer was yes if you plant jalapeños with bell pepper and the seed will be undesirable to save. It appears that’s what happened. How do they taste? Like a bell or jalapeño? Tom.
@tkept They are milder than the jalepenos. Much milder but that's about it . Crazy. I like them because they are easier to stuff lol. Oh well about the seeds though well let's see what next year brings.
@GardenNymph Great minds think alike. That was my first thought. “ Easier to stuff “. 😁😂😂😂
