Green manure doing its thing providing nutrients to the soil down the allotment #gyo

Sorry for my ignorance but what is green manure pls ?? @ellenmarygardening

@fuschia fast growing seeds that cover bare soil to smother weeds and their roots prevent soil erosion. Then you dig them into the ground while still green & nutrients return to the soil. Great for vegetable growing 😊

@EllenMaryGarden I sow alot year year...It did nothing! Very disappointing.

That's a shame @sandraescapes I wonder why that happened. It's been a great success on our allotment 😳
