I think my Venus fly trap is blooming? 🤔 #carnivorous-plants #venusflytrap

Yep! Be careful with letting it bloom though unless you’re experienced at taking care of Venus fly traps as it takes a lot of energy. The first Venus flytrap I had that bloomed ended up dying afterwards. I usually clip the flower stems as soon as I see them

Definitely blooming. I let mine bloom last year, and have not had a problem, knock on wood🤞

Your baby is getting a little sunburned. I would clip off the blackend traps and stems and move it to a place where it will get just a few hours less direct sunlight. (Partial shade) It's getting a little too much sun. #venusflytrap-care-tip And yes do watch the health and quality of your plant if you decide to let it bloom. Personally, I wouldn't let this one bloom. I would cut the stem off. It's going to take too much energy away from your already weakened plant caused by the sunburn.

Ok thanks @PunkyKy I’ll move it. It was coming out of dormancy. It survived all summer last year in this spot but I can understand it is sunburned because my deck is southfacing and some plants get blasted there. I’ve been meaning to clip the black dead ones. Also, I want to repot it but I don’t know what type of pot or what type of soil. Any tips?

For soil, just make sure it’s nutrient poor and acidic with good drainage. Normal fertilized soil will kill it with nutrients. I usually use a mix of spagnum moss and perlite
